Club Games Record Holder Correction
Club games record holder – Blake Hopkinson (300+ games)
For some time, the club records have listed the club games record holder as Brendan Fitzgerald having played an impressive 211 games.
We have recently unearthed that this infact has been in correct & that the true club games record holder is Blake Hopkinson having played in excess of 300 games!! This is a truly remarkable number of games played for the club. The exact number of games played is unknown. Blake commenced at the club in 1991, when it was still the Australian Rules Section of the Hornsby Heights Sports Club & played his 300th game on 29 April 2000. This record is extremely unlikely to ever be surpassed. Blake was known to regularly play up to 4 games a week, playing up several age groups – which simply wouldn’t be possible today. Blake is also a life member of the football club.
Blake recently dug out a treasure trove of various items from his playing days at the club, which include his milestone games medals & newspaper articles acknowledging these milestones (see photos).
