Ever thought about being an umpire?

It’s a great way to:

  • Earn money – between $20 & $182 per game!
  • Get fit or stay fit

  • Learn life skills – conflict resolution, leadership & teamwork

To become an umpire, you need to be at least 13 years ago. Umpiring is flexible to fit in with any of your other commitments (playing footy yourself, other sports, school, uni or work). Training is provided and there are training bases located all across Sydney. There is a structured development pathway for umpires for those wanting to progress as an umpire.

Prior to the beginning of the football season, there are typically information sessions held for those considering becoming umpires in the Sydney Junior AFL (usually March/April). Keep an eye out on https://www.facebook.com/aflsj as this is where these will be promoted.
