Club Player Number Record Broken!

We’ve done it! The club is officially the largest it has ever been in terms of player numbers, with our registration numbers for the 2023 season! Congratulations Eagles community!

We have a total of 238 players registered for the 2023 season, which is the largest that our club (or its predecessor in the Aussie Rules Section of the Hornsby Heights Sports Club) have ever had. The previous largest seasons at the club were 2013 & 2014, both with a total of 220 players.

We have also eclipsed the largest number of players registered to play in our junior football teams with 169 players registered with Hornsby Berowra Eagles this season. This figure includes all those playing u9 and above age groups for our Hornsby Berowra Eagles teams, North West Lightning teams and our 5 u17 boys who are playing with Pennant Hills/Westbrook given that we have not been able to field a team in this age group. The previous largest number of players registered in junior football teams was in 2014 with 150 players.

Whilst we have impressive numbers of kids in our Auskick program with 69 registered at the moment, believe it or not this is no where near the largest Auskick registration numbers that the club has had. In 2006, the club had 115 kids in Auskick….although they did run 2 centres that year with one in Berowra (77 kids) and one in Hornsby (38 kids)!
