Club Donates Football Gear to Bonya, NT
Late last year, a number of local sports clubs, including Hornsby Berowra Eagles, fielded the call by Clr Sallianne McClelland (Hornsby Shire Councillor) to donate various sporting goods to the extremely remote indigenous community of Bonya, Northern Territory (more than 350km north east of Alice Springs). Bonya has a number of kids who love sport, for whom these sporting goods were delivered to.
Our football club provided a number of new footballs, some football boots and some football jerseys that are no longer required at the club.
There were a number of other generous local sporting clubs who provided donations of sporting goods including Thornleigh Baseball, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Spiders Basketball & Berowra Cricket Club and we thank them for their contribution and getting behind this cause.
The goods were delivered to the Bonya community in person by Sallianne McClelland.
