Registration for our 2027 Masters Men & Women will open early in 2027!

Masters football made a very successful return to the Hornsby Berowra Eagles AFL Club in 2025, with a large number of men & women taking the field!

Masters football will be back again in 2027. There will be opportunities to be involved in a range of games & training including intraclub games, friendly games against other clubs, mini-carnivals & more!

Masters at HBE is more than just about footy, we are a community. Our men’s masters are affectionately known as the “Bald Eagles” and our women the “EaGals”.

Masters football is open to those 35+ years of age (those 32+ are welcome to participate in intraclub games & trainings, although cannot participate in games against other clubs or in Masters Carnivals). At no stage will we be playing for premiership points, although you might be playing for bragging rights!

Games will be sporadic across the season & likely a combination of intraclub games and games against other masters clubs. We might “train” occasionally too. There is no level of commitment required – turn up when willing & able.We will offer specific opportunities for our Women as intraclub games and hopefully in conjunction with or against women from other clubs. Women are welcome to participate with the Men in our intraclub games & training. Where agreement has been reached with opposition, women are also able to participate with our men in friendly matches against other clubs.
Masters football does have some modified rules to ensure the safety of all our players. Tackling is permitted, although we do have playing options available to indicate that some players require limited/no contact.

The first masters “training” session will likely be held some time in February 2026, with our first intraclub game held in late March/early April.

Registrations to participate in our Masters in 2027 will open early in 2027! Please note that all players must be registered to participate in any of our Masters games (this includes intraclub games).

Finally, spread the word about the mighty Eagles Masters! You don’t need to have a current (or previous) connection with the Hornsby Berowra Eagles AFL club to participate!
