We’ve done it! Again! The club is officially the largest it has ever been in terms of player numbers, with our registration numbers for the 2024 season currently sitting at 270!
This is the 2nd year running, that the player record number has been broken. The total of 270 players registered for the 2024 season eclipses the previous record of 263 last year (2023).
We have also surpassed the largest number of players registered to play in our junior football teams with 196 players registered with Hornsby Berowra Eagles this season. This figure includes all those playing u9 and above age groups for our Hornsby Berowra Eagles teams, North West Lightning teams and our u15 & u17 boys who are playing with St Ives & Pennant Hills/Westbrook respectively. The previous largest number of players registered in junior football teams was in 2023 with 183 players.
Whilst we have impressive numbers of kids in our Auskick program with 74 registered at the moment, believe it or not this is no where near the largest Auskick registration numbers that the club has had. In 2006, the club had 115 kids in Auskick….although they did run 2 centres that year with one in Berowra (77 kids) and one in Hornsby (38 kids)!
We also have more girls playing at the club than ever before, which is incredible to see. We currently have 73 girls registered at the club; 15 in Auskick & 58 in junior football teams. This surpasses the previous record of 72 girls at the club in 2023.
